Welcome 2014!

Another new year.

Here we are again.

This time however, I am stating my health journey because it is a little more serious this time.

At some point in my life I want to be a mom. But I went to the doctor last week and I was told that I might have PCOS because of my certain irregularities. PCOS is short for poly cystic ovarian syndrome which basically means that it is more difficult for me to become pregnant. Now I haven't been tested for this yet so its not officially confirmed however the majority of the symptoms hit the nail on the head and makes a lot of sense. I don't have to be tested for it yet because we are not ready for a baby yet but it doesn't mean that I can't prepare to make some changes in my diet and exercise.  PCOS can't be cured but it can be regulated by proper diet, exercise and hormones.

So 2014 is the year of conquering things. This year I am going to make major changes for my life. I am going to go back to school, exercising everyday, and going back to the Paleo diet.

It's going to be a great year!

New Month... Day 1

So... I took like a two month hiatus from working out. Falling back into the habit of not exercising again. Which was all my fault really. I became lazy again and it was just so easy to fall out of practicing. But now that has changed because I have talked my husband into doing yoga with me so today marks day 1 of another month of yoga practice. It's going to be nice to have someone else to practice with.

I was surprised at my muscles sort of remembering the way that they were used in some of the poses. Which was good because that means I can gather my muscle strength a little quicker than before. I thought I was more out of shape! Glad to see that I was wrong.

My hubby is not used to working out like this so he had a bit of a rough time. I am confident though that yoga will help with strengthening his legs and stretching his back so he will be happier and start losing weight.

This time we are taking pictures of our progress so that we can see how we are doing. Just to see if we can keep it going. I am excited. It's going to be rough but I think that we will both be happy with the results.

Day 31

Day 31! holy cow! I actually made it 31 days of working out. I wasn't sure I was going to make it for a little while there. Now I should be able to keep this up! I was pretty much on time today too! Hooray for me! I also lost 2.5 pounds since yesterday! Feeling pretty good but my core still needs a lot of work. Still it feels good just doing something physical.

Day 29

Almost 30 days! Woo hoo! Worked out kind of late again since I have been working on work stuff and also helping my husband with the car (Which is almost done).

The workout was pretty short... training for handstands. Also, I am up two pounds :( which sucks. but I am still sticking with it. Gotta stop cheating on the diet. That is what has been killing us... well me but still. I actually feel physically awful after eating crappy food and drinking tea instead of water. Need to plan the food thing better. After the car is finished it should go back to normal. Going to bed down now I think.

Day 28

Glad to be back on track a bit today. Since it is almost one month since I have started this routine. And even though I strayed a little, it wasn't too far away. My muscles were complaining a bit today but it wasn't too bad. I still need to get the breathing rhythm down but I am slowly getting better at it.

For lunch just now I made some chicken and veggies with some curry flavor.
I cut up some chicken thighs and cooked them in some olive oil and added some paprika, salt, onion and garlic powder and some ground pepper. Then I added some zucchini  onion and carrots. When those were about half way done I added some curry powder and a splash of coconut milk and let it continue cooking and stirring until done. It tasted amazing! Super quick and delicious Paleo lunch! Yum!
